Doug Stewart, Partner

Doug believes in understanding the engine of a business: the core value it provides to customers and the key drivers of profit and cashflow. After his consulting career led him to become a Big 4 consulting partner, Doug launched an internet startup that aligned with one of his passions: aviation. It was the first “Software as a Service” product of its type in that industry.

Over ten years, he built the company to become a software leader in corporate aviation, leading the software, sales and marketing, business and financial strategies. His software also created a new “managed service”, providing aviation-related IRS and SEC reporting for many Fortune 500 companies. As SaaS gained popularity, the company’s success led to its acquisition by a satellite communications company, where Doug led the software strategy and the go-to-market strategy for a much larger software market. Throughout this period, the technology platforms were updated and expanded as the market grew and client cybersecurity requirements became as important as user experience.

If you want to execute a key strategy involving technology, Doug has been in your shoes. He’s led client ERP implementations, merger integration projects and finance operational excellence efforts. He’s also developed new strategies and business cases for new products or markets. And he’s done that for his own company as well. Joining Fisher lets Doug return to his core values of serving clients and executing strategies. He leads the firm’s Finance Solutions services, where SaaS software products have now moved strongly into the finance world.
